Sunrise in the Alps
Either you are an early bird or stay up late. I rather belong to the second group. This sunrise was the best, I have ever seen. The complete area started glowing and shining.
This picture was taken on a 5-day hiking roundtrip around Austria’s highest mountain, the Großglockner. The Wiener Höhenweg in the Schobergruppe takes you through an unbelievable nativeness, probably one of the last idyllic and ideal pieces of untouched nature. This was the first sunrise of the tour high up in the mountains.
I have intentionally chosen this picture with a strong lens flair. If you look through my other pictures on the blog, you will quickly realise that I love reflections and mirroring effects. For this particular picture, I actually really like the lens flair, because it nicely frames the left side of the picture. What do you think? Have you ever woken up high in the mountains kissed by the first sun rays?
