Rewarded by the top view
Hiking and climbing up some high mountain is rewarded by the top view across the mountainous area and a feeling of pride (“I just did that”) and positive exhaustion. The boost of pride and happiness fills your body with the essential power and strength to make the way the down safely again.
Surrounded by silent vastness, you intuitively know that with endurance and step by step you can achieve any summit or goal you like.
In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Reward.”

Agree completely! The journey AND the view from the top offer their own rewards, but the feeling of accomplishment trumps all!

You’re positively scaring me. But then, I’m notoriously unathletic. I bow to your strength and stamina.

it took us approximately 4,5 hours to the top and 3 back down (excluding the breaks), I always spend lots of time taking pictures 🙂

Stunning photo. I loved what you said and feel the same when hiking or riding my race bike.
I had to laugh because I also stop a lot to make photos.
Cheers!

photograhers probably are nightmares for speed hikers who only run up to the top keeping an eye on their stop watch 😉

That’s for sure. Also to bikers. I get all sort of looks when I stop to make photos. What’s the point of running against the clock and not noticing the views?
