Horse power

Horse-drawn carriages are a well-known sight in Vienna. Tourists love riding in the so-called “Fiaker” to see the main Viennese attractions of the inner city.

Most of the time, I like them as well. However, they use the main streets to get to the touristy places in the morning. Whenever, I am already late for work or an appointment, I have one of the cabs in front of me. Independent of how much power the cars behind the cab have, overtaking can be challenging in the morning traffic. This way, the horsepower still gives the lead and a look back into another century.

B&W-Day2

This is my second contribution for the Black & White Photo Challenge. Day 1 was Inner Courtyard.

I would like to invite Tina from Travels and Trifles to join the Photo Challenge. Tina makes great pictures accompanying them with wonderful quotes. I especially love her pictures of birds. Her collection of ostrich, eagles, ducks and other pompous colored birds lets every ornithologist’s heart beat faster.

How does it work?

Post a B&W Photo every day for 5 days.
Write a story to accompany your photo for 5 days (this can be fiction or non-fiction, a page, a paragraph or a poem)
Nominate a different person each day.
