The Prunksaal (state hall) in the National Library located in the Hofburg Palace in Vienna is the heart of the old imperial library. Beside of the immense collection of books, it is full of baroque elements and stunning paintings at the ceiling.
Emperor Karl VI initiated building this magnificent baroque library. It was constructed by Joseph Emanuel Fischer von Erlach, the frescos were painted by Daniel Gran.
